Richard Simmons has broken 6 years of silence, after releasing a bombshell documentary about his mysterious disappearance from the spotlight to thank fans for their love.

The famed fitness guru suddenly disappeared from the public eye in 2014, becoming Hollywood’s most notorious recluse.

But on Wednesday night, the 74-year-old shared a public message on his Facebook page which said: “Thank you for your kindness and love.”

Signing the short posting with the words, “Love, Richard,” the note appears to have been written by Simmons himself.

His spokesperson also told The Post in a message on Friday: “Richard is eternally grateful for the continued outpouring of love and gratitude he has received from around the world. He is happy, healthy and living the life he chose to live.”

It comes just days after the release of the new doc “TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons,” which claimed the star’s knee problems were behind his sudden departure from the spotlight.

Simmons has not been seen in public since 2014, but he called the Today show in 2016 to deny rumors that he was being held hostage by his housekeeper.

Fans were thrilled by Simone’s Facebook message, which has already generated nearly 5,000 comments.

“I knew it was you, Richard!” A fan chimed in. “You are so loved, please don’t doubt it. You have done so much good in the lives of so many people. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. None of us will ever forget you!”

Another chimed in: “We miss you Richard but hope you are doing what is right for you. You have brought me so much joy over the years, now your time has come, you deserve peace and happiness. Thank you for saving my life again and again, I am forever grateful.”

The fitness guru debuted in the 1980s and made millions with comprehensive and uplifting workout videos.
