A trade to acquire an experienced point guard in Beverley has included THT, who was formerly thought to be an untouchable piece in a trade involving Kyle Lowry.

It's a sharp decline from grace for a player who was once thought to be the franchise's bright future.

Even at this early stage of his career, Horton-Tucker was a shell of himself, so it's difficult to dispute with the outcomes from last season.

With the roster around him and the rotations he was played in, the Lakers' front office and coaching staff did him no favours.

Even yet, his inability to become a consistent jump shooter seriously hampered his development, particularly given how frequently he was required to play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Beverley, meantime, has long been planning to return to Los Angeles, this time donning purple and gold.

Beverley stated in May that he "wouldn't even hesitate" to collaborate with LeBron James.
