A detective from "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is leaving the show. Kelli Giddish, who plays Amanda Rollins on the NBC drama, will leave the show after the 24th season.
She will appear in at least the first episode.
"I wanted to address the chatter I've seen online and let everyone know that this will, indeed, be my final season on 'Law & Order: SVU,'" Giddish said in a statement provided by NBC.
Playing Rollins has been one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences of my life. I've had the privilege of being a member of the 'Law & Order' family for the past 12 years.
Rollins is unlike any other character on television. She has grown and changed, as have I began working on this show in my late twenties and am grateful to have spent so much of my time Rollins.
"I want to thank all of my co-stars, every single member of the crew, and all of the writers here for our incredible work together over the last 12 years
"I'm so excited to apply everything I've learned during my time on 'SVU' to everything that's to come."
